I'm reading "The Other Boleyn Girl". How fascinating is this book? I started it 11am on Sunday and went through 424 pages by 11pm. This was in between taking care of kids and being at Sam's track meet. I can't wait to get to the end, even though I know how it ends. I'll pass on the movie, though.

Has anyone seen this movie?

I was distracted the first time I watched it and was surprised that my son was upset at the movie. He made an observation that had totally gone over my head. I rewatched it last night and realized once again, I would have missed it, if not for him saying it previously. I was wondering if anyone else had picked up on it?

I have no idea what is going on or why I would want to strike or blackout LJ, so obviously I'm not participating.

I am extremely hungry today. I want something breaded and fried. I am also sneezy, coughing, runny-nosed and at work. I took the day off yesterday and felt too guilty to take a second day off.

I'm jealous of John & Xander who are both off today, probably still sleeping and going to have a fun weekend.

I want to go out to dinner tonight. Probably cos I'm hungry right now. I probably be so run down by dinner time I'll be thinking "what were you thinking?"

Next weekend we are going to celebrate Sydney's birthday at the Caesar's Brookdale Family Resort. I hope it's as great as it sounds. It's all inclusive too. This is the place where they have those huge champagne glass pools for couples. On the couples side, not the family side. So you had to be real careful when booking your room. :-)

I wish I knew why Stevie Wonder's "Ribbon in the Sky" makes me feel melancholy. I love the song, but it does this tugging at my heart and this tugging at my memory banks: something that tells me I should be recalling some experience that is intricately linked to this song. But for the life of me, I can't bring it to the forefront of my mind.

NESS CITY, Kan. - Deputies said a woman in western Kansas sat on her boyfriend's toilet for two years, and they're investigating whether she was mistreated.

Ness County Sheriff Bryan Whipple said a man called his office last month to report that something was wrong with his girlfriend.

Whipple said it appeared the 35-year-old Ness City woman’s skin had grown around the seat. She initially refused emergency medical services but was finally convinced by responders and her boyfriend that she needed to be checked out at a hospital.

“We pried the toilet seat off with a pry bar and the seat went with her to the hospital,” Whipple said. “The hospital removed it.”

Whipple said investigators planned to present their report Wednesday to the county attorney, who will determine whether any charges should be filed against the woman's 36-year-old boyfriend.

“She was not glued. She was not tied. She was just physically stuck by her body,” Whipple said. “It is hard to imagine. ... I still have a hard time imagining it myself.”

He told investigators he brought his girlfriend food and water, and asked her every day to come out of the bathroom.

“And her reply would be, ‘Maybe tomorrow,”’ Whipple said. “According to him, she did not want to leave the bathroom.”

The boyfriend called police on Feb. 27 to report that “there was something wrong with his girlfriend,” Whipple said, adding that he never explained why it took him two years to call.

Police found the clothed woman sitting on the toilet, her sweat pants down to her mid-thigh. She was “somewhat disoriented,” and her legs looked like they had atrophied, Whipple said.

“She said that she didn’t need any help, that she was OK and did not want to leave,” he said.

She was taken to a hospital in Wichita, about 150 miles southeast of Ness City. Whipple said she has refused to cooperate with medical providers or law enforcement investigators.

Authorities said they did not know if she was mentally or physically disabled.

Police have declined to release the couple’s names, but the house where authorities say the incident happened is listed in public records as the residence of Kory McFarren. No one answered his home phone number.

The case has been the buzz in Ness City, said James Ellis, a neighbor.

So I finally got my car back. It's been in the autobody shop since Feb 1st. They said it would be ready on Feb 20th. Then they kept saying a part was backordered and I kept waiting. Then we hit 30 days and my insurance company stopped paying for the rental as that is the maximum amount of days allowed. So I was yelling at the people at the shop daily as it dragged on. Finally I told them they were going to pay for every extra day's rental I had to pay. The manager told me "no way! It's a backordered part and not his fault. they would never agree to that". I told him that is the only fair compromise for having my car for over a month and not having the part. I told him I could have made and delivered the part in a month and that is they did not pay for the extra rental time, I was reporting them to the BBB, the insurance company, the newspaper and anyone else who would listen to me. He said the owner would never agree to that. I told him you talk to him, I'm not backing down. I called yesterday to see if my car was ready. They said "yes sir!". LOL. Then when I went to pick it up they handed me $120 in cash, to pay for the extra days rental!! Sometimes, it does pay to not take crap from people!!

But lately, I never seem to have anything good to post. I'm sorry about that.

I stayed home today because I have not been feeling well. Went to the doctor. That did not go well. Apart from my primary reason for going, I also find out I have fibroids and they want to do a hysterectomy. And I may also have appendicitis. The blood test results should be available tomorrow.

I went into Xander's room to tuck him in and see what he was watching on TV. Instead of the usual Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network or Disney Channel, he is watching..........MSNBC!! And he proceeds to tell me about the operation the doctors are about to do to separate 2 little boys joined at the head. Can you just picture my face? And he watched the documentary to its conclusion and was very happy when the boys were successfully separated. And people wonder why I am amazed at this old soul in my son's body.

I had been searching the house from top to bottom for the last hour as I need my birth certificate for an appointment tomorrow and the safe is locked! I don't usually lock the safe. I bought it for the fire resistant quality, not the burglar-proof quality. And I have no clue where the key went. Approaching frustration, I decided to try the internet. Of course, there are all the locksmith ads, which does me no good tonight. So I change the search to "how to break into my safe". LOL. And I find a video on youtube. And you know what: I had my safe open 30 seconds later. Who says you can't find everything on the internet? LOL.
